PATRICK POKORSKI
Patrick Pokorski, 62, of Alpena passed away with his son, Ross, on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at their home.
Patrick was born in Dearborn on April 26, 1955, to the late Theodore and Rose (Woszczyna) Pokorski. On June 26, 1976, he married the former Karen Shriner. He as an active member of the community serving in various capacities including: Presque Isle Township Supervisor, first responder/EMT for Presque Isle Volunteer Fire Department #2, chair of the advisory group for the combined state parks of Negwegon, Rockport and Thompson Harbor, Michigan Science Olympiad, Masons, Lions Club and many more. He was known locally as the “Balloon Man” and the face of “Shout Eureka!” Science Discovery program.
He is survived by his wife Karen; daughter, Demelza (Don Johnson) Pokorski; six siblings, Rosemarie Pokorski, Daniel (Sherry) Pokorski, John (LeAnn) Pokorski, Michael (Theresa) Pokorski, Richard (Dr. Cheryl Ruby) Pokorski, Theodore (Gloria) Pokorski.
Private graveside and memorial services have taken place for Patrick and his son Ross. Funeral arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
