SADIE L. HEATH
Sadie L. Heath, 99, of Alpena passed away peacefully, May 6, 2017, at Turning Brook.
Sadie was born in Hillman to Theodore and Cecelia (Hubert) Bouchey on Sept. 18, 1917, the youngest of 11 children. She met the love of her life, Don Heath and they were married on Oct. 29, 1936. They raised four children, Betty, Dick, Doug, and Susan. He preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2003.
Sadie and Don owned a hunting camp, enjoying hunting season with visits from neighboring camps; and spent winters in Florida. Sadie worked at Montgomery Ward downtown Alpena for several years. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Betty Howay, Doug (Cecelia) Heath, Susan (Wayne) Blaski; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 67 years, Don Heath; son, Dick Heath; son-in-law, Ted Howay; two grandsons, Terry Howay, Mark Howay; and all her brothers and sisters, Mary Forsythe, Agatha Compeau, Kathleen Slattery, Walter Bouchey, John Edward Bouchey, Joseph Fredrick Bouchey, Cecelia Ann Cronk, George Bouchey, Lena Duncan, and Julia Rosamond Bouchey.
Friends may visit at the Bannan Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 9, from 4-8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
