JOAN MARIE SZATKOWSKI

Joan was born on April 17, 1935, in Rogers City, Mich., to the late Ralph and Ann (Meyers) Morley. On May 4, 1957, she married Richard Szatkowski in Rogers City, Mich. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2011. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church.

Joan is survived by her six children, Pamela (Gregory) Kennedy of Colorado, Raymond Szatkowski of Alpena, Mich., David Szatkowski of Texas, Christina (Edward) Budnick of Spruce, Mich., Elizabeth (Ronald) Smith of Colorado, and Timothy Szatkowski of Alpena, Mich.; her nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Kay (Richard) Garner of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa; her grandson James Cook; her four brothers Ralph, Donald, Ronald and James Morley.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. mass of Christian burial begins with Fr. Joe Muszkiewicz officiating.
