RONALD LEE ZARSKE

Ron was born Dec. 6, 1949, in Alpena to Gustav and Pauline (Johnson) Zarske and except for time spent with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War was a life-long resident of the Alpena area. He married Kathy Meixner on April 13, 1991, in Alpena. Ron spent his entire career working for the City of Alpena in the Department of Public Works retiring after 38½ years of service. He enjoyed his time outdoors where he could go hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Kathy; four children, Sara (Mike) Escareno of Spruce, Shane Zarske, Dillon Zarske, Andy (Autumn ) Zarske all of Alpena; three grandchildren, Drew Escareno, Jacob and Raven Zarske; and two sisters, Irma Burzich and Florence Neumann both of Alpena. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Zarske, Esther Koenig; and two brothers, Arnie and Carl.

Mr. Zarske has been taken for cremation by McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the Alpena Sportsman’s Club . On-line condolences may be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com.
