KENNETH GEORGE LEWIS

Kenneth George Lewis, 73, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 15, 2015.

Kenneth was born in Alpena on June 5, 1941, to the late George and Louise (Kaiser) Lewis and married Linda Gaylord on July 18, 1959. Ken worked as a semi-truck driver for Ball Tire and Gas until owning Ken Lewis Trucking, Inc. He later owned Ken’s Tree Transplanting, and loved buying and selling farm equipment his entire life. Ken enjoyed playing music (banjo) with his siblings and friends, playing cards and loved a good joke.

He is survived by his wife Linda; a daughter, Debbie (Jon) Simpson of DeWitt; three sons, Ken (Tammie) Lewis, Jr. of Lachine, Tim (Lorena) Lewis of Alpena, Doug (Debbie) Lewis of Georgia; nine grandchildren, Kara (Nick) Riehl, Kristen Lewis, Eric Lewis, Jonathan Doellner, Matthew Doellner, Cole Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Jessica O’Dell, Haley Lewis; four great-grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Chevelle, Eli; six step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lou Ann (Don) Jerome, Elizabeth Cordes; two brothers, Don (Dawn Neuman) Lewis, George (Faye) Lewis, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Chuck) Turske; a brother-in-law, Joe (Valerie) Gaylord, several close nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Cordes.

Mr. Lewis is at the Bannan Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 2 p.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m. with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
