Michigan's early aeronautic pioneers daringly mixed entertainment and engineering. Whether they were acrobatic balloonists like the Herrguth Brothers or pilots like Donald "The Birdman" McGee, these aeronaut "professors" put their experiments to the test in front of captivated crowds in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Taking Religion Seriously- Tuesday, 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the ACC Madeline Briggs Center 140
Millions are like me when it comes to religion: well-educated and successful people for whom religion has been irrelevant, Charles Murray writes. "For them, I think I have a story worth telling." Taking Religion Seriously is Murray's autobiographical account of the decades-long evolution in his stance toward the idea of God in general and Christianity in particular. He argues that religion is something that can be approached as an intellectual exercise. Come and hear Bob Case as he discusses this book.
Bob Case is a pastor emeritus from the First Congregational United Church of Christ and keeps trying to enjoy his full retirement. He continues to offer thoughtful presentations giving ALL members much to consider and ponder.

The Purpose, Impact, and Benefits of the AmeriCorps Senior Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs.
Heidi Powers has been an AmeriCorps Seniors Project Director since 2013 beginning with a small 2-county RSVP project and transitioning to a 12 county Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion project in 2016. Prior to taking on NEMCSA's AmeriCorps Seniors programming she served 12 years as Area Manager for NEMCSA's Michigan Works! program. Heidi is driven by the desire to help others and is a fierce advocate for the older adults in her community
