ALPENA -- Larry Page, 60, was sentenced to 25 to 60 years in prison on Monday in the 26th Circuit Court in Alpena for first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges (CSC).
Page was found guilty in a jury trial of two counts of first degree CSC - person under 13 years old, and three counts of second degree CSC - person under 13 years old.
Page's attorney Albert Brandt said that Page denies all allegations and will appeal his convictions. Page has one conviction on his record prior to this case, Brandt said.
Page used his chance to speak and told the court that he is not guilty.
One of the victims gave an impact statement expressing the pain that Page's actions caused.
"No one, and I mean no one, should have to go through this," the victim said. "I am glad to say that this monster is being put into prison."
The News does not publish the names of sexual assault victims.
Alpena County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Alyssa Miller said that another of Page's victims had been sent intimidating messages by relations of Page.
One of the messages asked the victim to "tell the court on Monday the truth" and that she is sending an innocent person to prison.
Miller said that at a previous hearing, the defendant pointed and screamed at the victim that she is a documented liar.
Miller said that the intimidation and harassment worked and the victim was not present to give an impact statement.
"I know she was looking forward to giving whether it was here in person today or on video about the effects this had on her life," Miller said.
She argued that the court should follow the recommendation of 25 to 60 years in prison.
Judge Ed Black said that he found the recommendation "fair and appropriate."
"Fair and appropriate is an understatement," Black said. "When you listen to (victim's name), what you hear is a young woman who believes her life has been irrevocably damaged and destroyed. I have never heard anybody be more impacted by a crime than individuals who are sexually assaulted."
Page was sentenced to 25 to 60 years in prison with credit for 55 days for count one, first degree CSC. He will be required to register as a sex offender. If he is ever released from prison, Page will have lifetime electronic monitoring and a GPS tether.
Each of the five charges was sentenced individually to be served concurrently.
For count two, attempted first degree CSC - person under 13, he received a sentence of 24 months to five years.
For the three charges of second degree CSC, he received 71 months to 15 years for each charge.
