OSSINEKE – The Harvest Community Church invites everyone and their friends to an Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party on Nov 6th from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at
10555 US- 23, in Ossineke.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Shoe boxes are collected and filled with fun toys, school supplies and personal care items--and delivered to children in need around the world to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way.
Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 244 million gift-filled shoe boxes to children in more than 175 countries and territories.
For many of these children, the gift-filled shoe box is the first gift they have ever
received.
In 2026, Operation Christmas Child hopes to collect enough shoe box gifts to reach 12.8 million children and National Collection Week is from Nov. 16 through Nov.23.
For those who aren’t able to attend the packing party but still want to purchase items and fill a shoe box, the drop off location for Alpena and the surrounding areas is Word of Life Baptist Church in Alpena located at 1900 N Bagley Street in Alpena.
Visit Samaritanspurse.org/occ for drop off times. Participants can donate $10 per shoebox gift online through "Follow Your Box" and receive a tracking label to discover its destination.
