1 min read

ALPENA -- Three free, informational presentations to help voters understand the upcoming statewide ballot proposals will be hosted by the League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan (LWV) in October, according to a LWV press release on Thursday. These educational sessions are open to the public.

This November, Michigan voters will decide on two statewide ballot measures:

- Proposal 1: A constitutional measure determining whether-or-not to convene a convention to rewrite the Michigan Constitution.

- Proposal 2: A legislative measure regarding restrictions on political contributions.

To ensure voters receive balanced information, presenters will cover both sides of each proposal, according to the release. Attendees will also receive information about voting resources as well as guidance on mail-in voting, early voting options, voter registration, election monitoring, and the election certification process.

The presentations are scheduled as follows:

- Thursday, Oct. 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

U.S.-23 North Alpena Township Civic Building

- Monday, Oct. 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Sanborn Chamber of Commerce Hall

- Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Ossineke Township Hall

LWV encourages community members to attend and bring questions.
