ALPENA -- The Thunder Bay Arts Council is pleased to announce that NEMAG (Northeast Michigan Artists Guild) is featuring its amazing artwork in the TBA Gallery during September and October.
The public is invited to view their artwork and that of 19 permanent Gallery artists at the TBA Gallery, 127 W Chisholm Street, Downtown Alpena from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.First conceived by local artists Kerrie Spooner and Marilyn Bachelor in 1993, the Northeast Michigan Artists Guild (NEMAG) began holding monthly meetings in January 1994 at the Jesse Besser Museum. The primary purpose of NEMAG was "to promote and support art and artists through inspiration, information and education in our community."
Members of NEMAG range from beginner to advanced artists. Over the years, membership has fluctuated between 25-40 members. While the group has evolved and grown, the mission statement remains the same. We help each other by sharing ideas, critiquing artwork, encouraging each other, learning and being together.
