Par 3 Challenge and Million Dollar Shootout Chairman Paul Sabourin presents a check for $1,230 to Jason Gilespie of the Marine Corps' League Toys for Tots program. The Par 3 Challenge has donated over $21,000 to local non-profit charities over the last 16 seasons. The Par 3 Challenge is open to the public for all golfers excluding those with a professional golf status.

ALPENA -- The Alpena Golf Club ended its summer-long Par 3 Challenge and Million Dollar Shootout program on Aug. 30. Although no one won the million dollars, nine golfers won a chance to swing for a hole-in-one and one golfer was a lucky draw winner thus clinching the 10th spot. After Sunday's shootout a banquet was held where prizes were awarded to the lucky 10 golfers. Door prizes were drawn later. This year the beneficiary was the Marine Corps’ League Toys for Tots program.
