ALPENA – The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan (CFNEM) is accepting grant applications for its Northeast Michigan Youth Advisory Council (NEMYAC) grant. The deadline to apply is Oct. 15.
All nonprofit agencies with a 501(c)(3) IRS designation, schools, churches (for non-religious purposes) and government agencies with youth programs in the counties of Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle are invited to apply.
Youth Advisory Council grants are for projects benefiting youth in the four-county service area. The maximum request amount for YAC grants is $2,500. Our YACs are particularly interested in funding projects and programs that help to address the top issues for their peers as noted in their most recent youth needs assessment: depression and mental health issues; stress issues; teen substance use issues; and hygiene issues.
