HARRISVILLE -- Celebrate the life and legacy of an icon at Dolly Parton Day on Friday, September 25 at 6:00 PM at the Harrisville Branch of the Alcona County Library. The evening will feature a film and a bake sale benefiting Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Alcona & Iosco Counties. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in honor of Dolly, so bring your rhinestones, big hair, and country flair! On Sept 26 at 10:30 a.m. the Library Series Explores the Enduring Legacy of Sandhill Cranes at the main branch of the Alcona County Library in Harrisville. Presented by AuSable Valley Audubon, the program will explore one of conservation's great success stories and one of our most ancient bird neighbors. The Alcona County Library's Make-It Monday "Painted Leaves" craft has been rescheduled from Monday, September 21 to Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Main Branch in Harrisville. Participants will use acrylic markers to decorate dried leaves. Materials will be provided, and the program is free to attend.
