ALPENA – The Alpena Wildcat Alumni Hall of Fame Committee selected two outstanding candidates for induction in Fall 2026. The ceremony will take place as part of Homecoming festivities on September 25th, 2026. The two new members are Chris Kauffman Class of 2003 and Corey Brooker Class of 1990.
● Chris Kauffman, already a Wildcat Athletic Hall of Famer for his outstanding AHS Football career, has built an impressive professional resume here in Alpena as a Master Electrician while working for Thunder Bay Electric, a Journeyman Substation Technician for Alpena Power and most recently as a Utility Technology Instructor at Alpena Community College.
● Corey Brooker discovered his passion for space exploration as a fourth-grade student at Ella White Elementary School watching the launch of Space Shuttle STS-2. He earned Bachelor of Science (1994) and Master of Science (1995) degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. Corey currently serves as Senior Manager of Mechanical Engineering at Lockheed Martin Space, where he leads engineering teams supporting critical national space initiatives. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the success of the Atlas V, Delta IV, Orion, and Next Generation Interceptor programs and has supported 25 successful space missions, including NASA’s historic Artemis II mission that carried astronauts around the Moon in April 2026.
They will join a group of distinguished Alpena High School graduates on the Wildcat Wall of Fame in the main office lobby at AHS.
Nominees should exemplify the pride and spirit of Alpena High School. They must have distinguished themselves in their career, their community and society as a whole and must be out of high school at least 10 years. Nominations are taken annually until April 15th.
