PRESQUE ISLE COUNTY – Thanks from valuable tips from people in Northeast Michigan, the Michigan State Police have finally been able to identify a man who was discovered dead at a residence in Ocqueoc Township last year.
The name of the man will not be released publicly.
On Nov.6, 2025, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post responded to a residence on Raven Drive in Ocqueoc Township after a deceased male was discovered on the shore of Lake Huron.
At the time he was discovered, the man was wearing a white t-shirt with word "Allegedly" in colorful letters and an Ostrich on the front, a black North Face jacket, American Eagle undergarments with an aquatic print, and blue jeans. The preliminary investigation indicates the man is approximately 5' 6" and 165 pounds. The man may have been deceased for a period ranging from three months to three years. Due to the condition of the deceased, it is difficult for investigators to determine any other identifying information. The medical examiner's investigation is ongoing, and foul play is not suspected.
UPDATE: July 16, 2026
Detectives have been actively working to identify this individual. With assistance from the Michigan State University Anthropology Laboratory and the MSP Forensic Art Unit, a sketch of what the man is believed to look like was composed and is being released to the public.
MSP is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the deceased. Anyone who recognizes this man or has any information is asked to call the MSP Alpena Post at (989) 354-4101.
UPDATE: August 11, 2026
Since the last update on July 16, Michigan State Police detectives have made significant progress in the investigation involving the man discovered along the Lake Huron shoreline in November 2025.
Thanks to valuable community tips and a confirmed DNA match, investigators have successfully identified the individual. Out of respect for the family, his name will not be released publicly.
