MICHIGAN - U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) announced that he will begin his 10th and final official motorcycle tour across Michigan on Monday, Aug. 24, according to a press release from Peters' office.
The five-day "Thank You, Michigan" tour will make stops in Bay City, Alpena, Marquette, Traverse City, Grand Rapids, and East Lansing. Throughout the tour, Peters will be joined on the ride by veterans, union workers, motorcycle safety advocates, and constituents.
"This year's motorcycle tour is all about saying thank you to the amazing people and communities that I've been proud to represent during my time in Congress," Peters said in the release. "There's no better way to travel around Michigan than on a motorcycle, so I'm looking forward to riding across our beautiful state to meet with Michiganders and celebrate all that we've accomplished together."
Peters will start the tour in Bay City on Monday, Aug. 24 and conclude the tour in East Lansing on Friday, Aug. 28. Additional information regarding his stops will be announced in the coming days.
Peters, an avid and long-time motorcycle rider who founded the bipartisan Senate Motorcycle Caucus, will ride more than 1,000 miles across the state on this year's tour.
