Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center to host community event

By The Alpena News 1 min read

The Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Region 9 Area Agency on Aging, with support from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services through the ACCESS-ADRD Grant, will host a free community event, “The Aging Brain: What’s Normal vs. a Warning Sign?” on Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Alpena Public Library. The program will help participants better understand normal cognitive aging, recognize potential warning signs of memory changes, connect with local resources, and access free cognitive screenings.

“Events like this provide an important opportunity for individuals and families to learn about brain health, ask questions, and connect with trusted experts and community resources,” said Theresa Gierzynski, Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement Core Manager at the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
