ALPENA – Artist Erwin P. Lewandowski of Alpena was recently juried into the International Guild of Realism Fall Salon Online Exhibition. This year artists from over 15 countries will be represented during the event that runs from Oct 15 through Dec. 20.

"I'm always surprised to have one of my drawings selected for an art exhibition; especially, with such a talented group of artists from around the world. An interesting note is the wide range of mediums accepted in this exhibition. The list includes acrylic, watercolor, oil soft pastel, colored pencil, gouache, graphite, charcoal, pastel, scratchboard, ink and egg tempera."

"My colored pencil entry, River Sunrise II, was created following a trip to Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. The scene captures the morning sun reflected on the river with two cascading waterfalls. Adding value to the composition are powerful movements, an assortment of shapes, wide range of colors and strong contrasts between all of the elements."

"This has been a most unusual year for my art business. The list of changes includes the loss of one of my primary agents due to retirement after 30 years in the gallery business. Mary Williams Fine Arts in Boulder, Colorado, did an excellent job representing me for years and will be missed in the future. A second gallery, Main Branch Gallery in Grayling, decided to seek a buyer for their business or close sometime this year. My only recourse this past winter was to find replacement agents for these two losses. Filling the void in March was First Line Design Gallery in Sister Bay, Wisconsin. The gallery is located in Door County, one of the most traveled tourist regions of the Midwest. A second location, Performing Arts Center Gallery in Grayling, was added to my list of agents this past April," said Lewandowski.

The artist and his wife reside along the shoreline of Lake Huron in Alpena. To learn more about the artist, visit his website at: www.erwinplewandowski.com
