ALPENA – The Friends of the Library will be holding their annual used book sale starting today at the George N Fletcher Alpena County Library.
The sale will be held in the Judith A. Stillion Conference Room from 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. today and Friday, and 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday.
All adult books are $1 and children's books are .50 cents except on Saturday where all remaining books will be sold for $5 a bag.
President Sharon Engstrom says people can bring their own bag or use one that will be provided and fill it up.
There is a large variety of fiction and nonfiction books available to purchase, from bestsellers to vintage finds.
This is the Friends of the Library's main fundraiser for the year and the proceeds are used to support and assist the library with the many programs they undertake each year. It is also a great way to circulate gently used reading materials and promote a reading community which is the goal of the group.
