Bobolts preliminary examination adjourned

ALPENA -- Frederick Bobolts, 61, had his preliminary examination hearing adjourned on Wednesday.

Bobolts is charged with multiple counts of domestic violence and assault. He is also charged with Animals-Killing/Torturing and multiple second-degree and third-degree child abuse charges, as well as two aggravated stalking charges.

He was arraigned on Aug. 3 in the 88th District Court in Alpena and had a personal protection order violation hearing in the 26th Circuit Court in Alpena on Aug. 10.

Bobolts had his most recent hearing on Aug. 11 in the 88th District Court. Judge Alan Curtis raised his bond to $75,000 at that hearing and placed him under arrest.

Bobolts's next hearing is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 in the 26th Circuit Court for the alleged PPO violation.

His preliminary examination has been rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 2 in the 88th District Court according to MiCOURT.
