ALPENA -- Frederick Bobolts, 61, was arraigned Monday in the 88th District Court in Alpena for multiple domestic violence and assault charges.
Bobolts is also charged with Animals-Killing/Torturing and multiple second degree and third degree child abuse charges.
Bobolts appeared via Zoom from the Alpena County Jail.
He was given a $25,000 personal recognizance bond and released from jail. The personal recognizance bond of $25,000 means if he didn't need to pay any cash upfront to be released from jail, but if he were to miss a court hearing, he could be ordered by the court to pay the full value amount.
Bobolts was ordered to have a GPS tether and to have no contact with the alleged victims of the domestic violence and child abuse.
Bobolts was arrested on June 18 for one count of aggravated stalking. For that charge, he was given a $10,000 cash/surety/10% bond. Bond was posted on June 22, according to MiCourt Case Search.
He was also arrested on July 10 for another charge of aggravated stalking. He was given a $25,000 cash or surety bond and posted bond on July 13.
Bobolts's next hearing will be at 9:30 a.m. on Aug.11 in the 88th District Court in Alpena.
HEATHER PHILLIPS
Heather Phillips, 42, was also arraigned on Monday. She is charged with controlled substance possession (narcotic/cocaine) less than 25 grams and controlled substance – maintaining a drug house.
Phillips was arrested last Wednesday and posted bond on Monday. She was given a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.
Defense Attorney Julie Miller said that Phillips had a criminal charge from over 20 years ago for delivery of oxycontin and marijauna and an operating while intoxicated charge from about 12 years ago. She said Phillips never failed to appear for court in the past and that it would be appropriate for her to be given a personal recognizance bond with the appropriate conditions.
Alpena County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Alyssa Miller agreed and said that Phillips had prior felonies in 2004 and 2006.
Phillips will next be in court at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 in the 88th District Court in Alpena.
