ALPENA – The City of Alpena's stump grinding contractor will begin grinding stumps this week. These tree stumps are within the city's right-of-way, and the trees were removed by the city. Please be aware that stump grinding can generate high levels of noise during equipment operations and traffic shifts may be necessary at some locations due to stump sizes.
We anticipate the work to last through late fall.
