ALPENA -- Alpena Events Complex (APlex) in Alpena will host John Berry, a national touring musical act in 2026. John Berry, Grammy and Emmy award-winning singer-songwriter, will perform his annual Christmas concert on Dec. 11.
Tickets for Berry's concert are currently on sale.
Berry's annual Christmas tour has become a tradition for Berry fans across the country, which represents Berry's music career that began in the 1990s.
The Wagon Wheel Bar and Grill in Ossineke and Synchronizations, LLC are asking people to bring canned goods, toys and cash to help out families in the area during the Christmas season.
Berry has earned multiple gold and platinum records over the course of his music career, according to an APlex press release. He was nominated for the ACM Top New Male Vocalist in 1994, won a Grammy Award in 1996 for his participation in "Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel Vol. 1," was nominated for another Grammy in 1995 for his song "Your Love Amazes Me" and was nominated for the CMA Horizon Award and Top Male Vocalist Award in 1995. In 1997 he was nominated for Vocal Event of the Year (for Long Haired Country Boy with Charlie Daniels and Hal Ketchum), and in 2013, John was nominated for the Mainstream Country Male Artist by the ICM Awards.
Some of Berry's notable hits include "Your Love Amazes Me," "Standing on the Edge of Goodbye," and "She's Taken a Shine." Berry will visit Alpena as part of his annual Christmas tour, performing his rendition of "O' Holy Night."
"I love what I do, with a passion not seen in quite some time," Berry said in the APlex press release. "I'm hopeful and excited about the future. I love singing and always will. I have a bus, an incredible stage presentation, a great band, a hands-on management team, and I'm always all dressed up and ready to go."
Berry began doing Christmas tours in 1995 and 2016 marked his 20th anniversary holiday concert tour, according to the release.
Berry is a member of the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame and the South Carolina Entertainment & Music Hall of Fame. In 2026, Berry will celebrate the 30th anniversaries of his single "She’s Taken A Shine," in November, and his "Christmas With John Berry" annual tour.
"I think I am a few years behind Kenny Rogers when it comes to Christmas tours in country music," Berry said in the release. "That's hard to comprehend."
