The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for six Northern Michigan counties including Presque Isle, Alpena, and Montmorency.

There will be significant icing. Expect additional ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch and winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute.

Localized icing of one quarter of an inch has already occurred across parts of the warned area. Additional icing up to one tenth of an inch is likely.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
