Alpena man arrested for delivery of narcotics and weapon offenses

ALPENA — In February, detectives from the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team (HUNT) started a narcotics investigation into an Alpena man for selling narcotics throughout northern Michigan, including Alpena County, a Friday press release from the Michigan State Police stated.
Preliminary investigation indicates that on April 2 detectives, utilizing electronic and physical surveillance, were able to intercept the suspect, 34-year-old Dominick Medlin, on a narcotics trip.
A traffic stop was conducted on U.S.-23 in Alpena County. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and detectives located two locked safes along with drug paraphernalia. Follow-up search warrants were executed on the two safes and located 28.6 grams of cocaine, 5.8 grams of crack cocaine, a handgun, a revolver, and cash.
Detectives arrested Medlin and a passenger, Rebecca Knoll, 66, of Alpena. Both were lodged at the Alpena County Jail.
Medlin was arraigned on April 6 in the 88th District Court in Alpena County on the following charges:
*One Count: Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture Narcotic/Cocaine (less than 50 grams)
*Two Counts: Weapons- Possession by a prohibited person
*Two Counts: Felony Firearm
*One Count: Weapons- Ammunition- Possession by a Felon
*Two Counts – Weapons- Carrying Concealed
Medlin was given a $100,000 cash or surety bond. His next court appearance is on April 13 at 2:30 p.m.
Knoll was arraigned on one count of Controlled Substance-Possession of Narcotic/Cocaine (less than 25 grams). She was given a $10,000 cash or surety bond. Her next court appearance is on April 13 at 2:30 p.m.
