The National Weather Service Gaylord has announced a winter storm warning effective at 8 p.m. Tuesday night and lasting through 8 p.m. Wednesday. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice and gusty winds.
Significant icing is expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations could be up to one inch and ice accumulations between one tenth and four tenths of an inch. East to northeast winds could be gusting as high as 25 to 35 mph tonight.
Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday morning commute and could linger into the Wednesday evening commute.
There is still potential for sleet to mix in. If more sleet mixes in than expected, ice accumulations will be less than current expectations.
