ALPENA — Donations are being collected to help support the hundreds of utility workers in Alpena County. Community members that would like to support the efforts of the lineman and road commission workers can drop off donations at either the Alpena County Road Commission at 1400 Bagley Street or Alpena Power Company at 401 North 9th Street.

Cases of water, energy drinks, granola bars, beef jerky, snacks, and fresh fruit are recommended items to donate.
