Due to worsening weather, the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office and Alpena County Central Dispatch urge residents to remain at home and avoid driving unless absolutely necessary, according to a text alert from the county’s alert center.

The current winter weather storm is creating low visibility and hazardous road conditions, the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office stated in a Friday Facebook post.
