At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 17, troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post responded to a residence in Alpena Township for a report of a person threatening a victim with a weapon.

It is alleged that a 58-year-old man from Alpena Township believed that, on several occasions, someone had been going underneath his house. Armed with a baseball bat, the man approached the victim, who was outside, and threatened him with the bat.

After conducting an on-scene investigation, troopers determined the victim did not go underneath the man’s home. The man was arrested and lodged at the Alpena County Jail.

He was arraigned on Feb. 19 in the 88th District Court in Alpena County on one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault). His next court appearance is at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 26.
