ALPENA — On Jan. 30, Alpena residents will get the chance to meet the new leadership team at the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is hosting an open house at its location on Chisholm Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 30, where community members can meet Paige Fisher, the president and CEO of the Chamber, and Lenny Avery, economic development coordinator. Avery is also the executive director of Target Alpena.

The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Target Alpena Economic Development Corporation has over 25 years of experience assisting companies with numerous business development initiatives including business start-ups, business expansion, and business relocation services, according to the Target Alpena website.

Fisher started her role in September and Avery started his in December.

“The event will introduce the organization’s new leadership team…The informal drop‒in event is open to the public, Chamber members, and community partners,” the Chamber’s website states. “Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Fisher and Avery, learn about their vision for the year ahead, and hear updates on initiatives focused on business support, economic development, and regional growth.”

Fisher said that the event is meant to be a casual way for the community to meet herself and Avery and ask any questions they might have. There will be light refreshments provided, she said.

She said that people are always welcome to stop in at the Chamber, but that putting an event together might draw even more people.

Fisher described the open house as a drop-in event.

“We thought this was a good invitation for the community,” Fisher said.
