Alpena Public Schools announces new all sports athletic app

On Monday night, Alpena Public Schools Athletic Director Ben Henry presented to the APS school board details about a new athletic app that provides a single, unified digital platform to strengthen communication, enhance safety, improve engagement, and streamline access to athletic information for students, families, staff, and the broader school community–across all sports, and all seasons.

“Having a one stop shop for all athletics is going to be a great tool for APS sports”, said Henry. “This all-sport athletic app is not simply a convenience tool–it is a strategic investment in safety, communication, efficiency, and community connection. By consolidating all athletic information into one secure, professional platform, we support our student-athletes, protect our staff, empower our families, and strengthen our district’s athletic culture”, Henry added.

“This project aligns with the stated goals of the APS Strategic Plan pillar four as it helps to support our partnership with our families as well as utilizes and enhances our districts’ community partnerships”, said APS Communications Director Lee Fitzpatrick.

The athletic department will fund the app moving forward with a $15 fee per athlete each year. The smartphone app is available for free download by searching “Alpena Wildcats” at the Apple Store or Google Play and is customizable to the user’s preferences.
