Oct. 27

12:29 p.m. While on routine patrol a deputy came upon a vehicle on the side of the road in Rust Township. The deputy stopped to assist the motorist, the vehicle was broken down, the driver of the vehicle had a tow truck in route.

12:37 p.m. While on routine patrol a deputy came upon a vehicle on the side of the road in Rust Township. The deputy stopped to assist the motorist, the vehicle had a flat tire and the driver was waiting for someone to bring a tire.

3:03 p.m. A resident of Rust Township called to request deputies to her residence; her 30-year-old grandson had slashed her tires, and his uncle’s tires. Deputies responded to the scene, the subject was taken into custody, transported to Alpena County Jail and lodged on MDOP charges.

7:21 p.m. Tri Township Fire Department was dispatched to a residence in Briley Township after a resident reported the smell of gas.

Oct. 28

7:43 a.m. A deer vehicle crash was reported in Rust Township; a report was taken.

7:56 a.m. A deer vehicle crash was reported in Montmorency Township; a report was taken.

9:26 a.m. A suspicious person was reported by a neighbor in Albert Township; the subject was walking around a seasonal residence. MSP Trooper and MCSO deputies responded to the scene, the subject was seen walking into the woods, officers were unable to locate him, they did have his vehicle towed from the scene.

Oct. 30

7:04 a.m. A deputy reported a vehicle deer accident in Briley Township; a report was taken.

11:18 a.m. A deputy arrested and transported a subject from Briley Township to Alpena County Jail for a probation violation.

10:10 p.m. Deputies responded to a civil dispute in Avery Township; the two parties were separated for the night.

Oct. 31

8:14 a.m. A deer vehicle crash was reported in Hillman Township; a report was taken.

2:34 p.m. While on routine patrol a deputy initiated a traffic stop, the subject was found to have multiple warrants out of multiple jurisdictions. The subject ran from the deputy, he was apprehended a few minutes later after a short foot chase. The subject was arrested on warrants and also obtained multiple new charges. He was transported to Alpena County Jail and lodged.

3:55 p.m. A report of a boat that had floated up to the Lake 15 boat launch was made. An officer investigated and the owner was located by telephone, he stated he left the boat there to go get his trailer.

6:21 p.m. A subject called 911 for an erratic driver who hit a light pole and ran the stop light in Briley Township. Deputies were notified. While deputies were en route, multiple 911’s came into dispatch for the same truck now involved in a single vehicle rollover. Hillman Fire/EMS and deputies responded to the scene. An investigation is still ongoing.

Nov. 1

9:39 a.m. A Briley Township resident called to report he smelled natural gas behind his residence. Contact was made with PIE&G to advise.

2:18 p.m. A seasonal resident of Montmorency Township called to report that the crew that was hired by PIE&G to clean up debris damaged his gate. The subject was advised to contact PIE&G.

7:20 p.m. A resident in Hillman Township requested a welfare check on a female and her dog. MCSO was able to contact the female, she was fine and had just left the house shortly before to run errands.

9:35 p.m. A deputy and DNR officer responded to a location in Briley Township after a report of an assault. Law enforcement on scene spoke with the victim/witnesses and were able to narrow down who the suspect would be. After a prompt investigation, a 44-year-old male was arrested and lodged at ACJ for assault with intent to do great bodily harm.

11:25 p.m. A deputy conducted a traffic stop in Albert Township. The driver of the vehicle had a revoked license. The male was issued a court appearance.

Nov. 2

1:34 a.m. A passerby came across a vehicle that struck a tree. She identified one female inside with a dog. Albert Township EMS, a deputy, and a DNR officer responded to the scene. M&D assisted with the removal of the vehicle. An investigation is still ongoing.

8:01 a.m. A resident of Albert Township called to report that a subject damaged his property during the night. Deputies responded to the scene to speak with the subject. Deputies spoke with the other parties involved and they admitted to doing the damage.

11:17 a.m. A report of a silver 4-door sedan parked at an intersection in Montmorency Township was made, the caller believed it to be suspicious. A deputy responded to the scene, the vehicle belonged to one of the crew that is removing debris for PIE&G.
