Salvation Army accepting holiday applications
Alpena County, MI – Christmas is coming, and many feel unprepared. They are concerned about where the funds are going to come from their already tight budget. The Salvation Army is here to assist those who are concerned about providing a Christmas to remember. Our Christmas Assistance Sign-Up for families and individuals living in Alpena County is coming soon. Applications are being taken at The Salvation Army Church located at 722 N. 2nd Ave., Alpena on the following dates:
Oct. 29, 1 a.m. – 5 p.m
Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Nov. 5, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m
Nov. 7, 1 a.m. – 5 p.m.
All applicants need to bring the following:
Picture I.D. of applicant with Alpena County address.
Some form of I.D. for all others in household such as birth certificate, school I.D., Medicaid card, etc.
Proof of all income in the household such as paycheck stub, DHHS, Social Security benefits
documentation, etc.
They will receive:
A food basket with enough food for a holiday dinner and more.
Gifts for children in the family age newborn to 17 years old only.
