51st Harmony Festival starts Saturday in Harrisville

News File Photo Hundreds of shoppers came out for the 50th Annual Harmony Festival, held over Labor Day weekend 2024 in Harrisville.

HARRISVILLE — Arts and crafts vendors from all over Michigan and the country will be making the trek to Harrisville this weekend for the 51st annual Harmony Festival.

Teri O’Callaghan, secretary of the Harrisville Arts Council, said that the number of vendors has increased from last year.

“We are up from last year,” she said. “We had 240 last year. We have 300 booths and 276 vendors, and they keep coming in.”

The Harmony Festival is an arts and crafts show featuring all kinds of pieces, including woodwork, jewelry, sewing, and crocheting, to name a few. The festival takes place at the corner of U.S.-23 and M-72 in Harrisville, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The north side of the festival includes vendors selling products made of wood, metal, glass, leather and resin, O’Callaghan said. The south side features sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting vendors. Vendors will be coming from across Michigan as well as from Florida, California, Indiana, and Illinois.

A total of 18 food trucks will be at the festival, including Mexican, Thai, and American food, O’Callaghan said. Classic festival foods such as kettle corn and lemonade will also be available for purchase.

Local musicians as well as the Sweet Adelines will be providing musical entertainment at the festival. Inspiration Alcona is sponsoring Porch Fest, where musicians will play in front of businesses on Main Street.

Harmony Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, with a Labor Day parade starting at 1 p.m. Sunday in downtown Harrisville.
