The Alpena Fireworks Show will occur on Thursday July 3, according to a City of Alpena press release. Fireworks will be launched over the water adjacent to Bay View Park.

Fireworks may be viewed from public parks and locations around the city. Prentiss Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic from Harbor Drive to the breakwall walkway.

The City of Alpena fireworks ordinance follows state law, which allows consumer fireworks only on June 29, 30, and July 1 through July 4, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:45 p.m. Using fireworks outside of these dates and times is prohibited. Consumer fireworks may not be ignited on public property at any time. Doing so is illegal.
