Storm debris collection to end soon
Alpena County and Alpena Township will host their final days for citizens to drop off debris left over from the ice storm. Brush, branches, limbs, and tree debris may be brought to a parcel located off of Airport Road on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
This location will be monitored by people and cameras. The space will be limited for citizens’ use only. Individuals should not drop any debris at this site outside of these designated times and dates. Violators will be prosecuted.
The county and township will be sending staff and volunteers out to collect brush and tree debris from those who are elderly or are facing financial hardship, where and when possible. Due to the limited number of individuals assisting, it is not guaranteed that they will get to you.
If you are interested in volunteering, or have questions, contact Alpena County at (989) 354-9500 or email commissionersoAice@alpenacounty.org
