Alpena set the tone late in the first period when Trevor Worth found the back of the net with 1:03 remaining, assisted by Gavin Winterstein and Ethan Walker.

The Wildcats kept up the pressure, maintaining offensive dominance while doubling the Titans in shots on goal.

The intensity ramped up in the second period, with Alpena committing three penalties while Traverse City West had just one.

Despite being shorthanded, Winterstein capitalized on a breakaway opportunity, scoring a crucial goal with six minutes left in the period to give Alpena a 2-0 lead.

The Titans responded quickly in the third period, as Lincoln Seyferth put Traverse City on the board just 18 seconds in, cutting Alpena’s lead in half.

However, the Wildcats answered back midway through the period when Preston Schuldt netted Alpena’s third goal, assisted by Walker and Brody Misiak, regaining their two-goal cushion.

With Traverse City West pushing for a late comeback, Walker sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 1:49 remaining.

The Titans managed to add one more goal with just four seconds left, as Hudson Robertson found the net, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Alpena’s performance.

The Wildcats’ offensive attack and defensive effort helped them secure the 4-2 win, adding another victory to their season.
