HILLMAN LOSES TO ROGERS CITY
Hillman’s boys basketball team lost on the road to Rogers City 56-43 on Tuesday.
With the loss, the Tigers slipped to 11-6 and 7-1 in the North Star League Little Dipper.
Rogers City jumped out early in the first quarter 23-10 and Hillman never recovered.
Jacob Catalano would make four of his six three-pointers in the first half to score 24 on the night and Jase Wenzel would chip in with 10 for the Hurons.
Hillman was paced by senior guard Cuyler Schultz with 12 points and six assists. Sophomore Ty Muszynski added 10 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds, while senior guard Brenden Rouleau rounded out the scoring with 10 as well.
“We really just didn’t play well today,” Hillman coach Eric Muszynski said. “Coming off a five-game winning streak we have been playing well despite some sickness but we are slowly getting out of that like other teams. We really just didn’t play Hillman Basketball today but no excuses will move on from this and focus on Friday and although we lost today we found some things throughout the game that can help in Districts if we run into Rogers City again.”
Hillman returns to action Friday as they travel to Fairview, trying to avenge their only league loss.
