HARRISVILLE — Alcona High School junior Emma Schroeder is living a life to be proud daily. Not only do her classes and studies keep her busy, but she is also involved in extracurriculars as well.
Band, wrestling, and underwater robotics, along with the vice presidency of the Alcona FFA and the presidency of the Alcona Junior Livestock Club, also fill her time.
Schroeder is also the proprietor of Midnight Meadows Rabbitry, where she raises Champagne d’Argent rabbits for meat and fur.
For most, this load would be a lot to carry, but this 17-year-old is also an established jewelry designer as well, producing unique wire-wrapped necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
Schroeder began making jewelry in 2021, at the age of 13.

“I’ve worked really hard for this skill, it’s not something that just sprouted overnight,” she said. “I’ve definitely had a lot of trial and error. I’m really proud of the skill that I’ve developed.”
Hollyhock Emporium of Harrisville has Schroeder’s jewelry on display as artisan of the month.
“She is one of those kids who is very busy,” the owner of Hollyhock Emporium, Monica Spears said of Schroeder. “She is also in 4H so she gives back to the community. I love having Emma in my shop. She is truly a breath of fresh air.”
This teenager’s entrepreneurial skills are becoming recognized in the community, and she is one of the top-selling artisans at Hollyhock Emporium.
These beautiful stone wire-wrapped accessories are each well thought out and professionally constructed.

Schroeder said she often orders rocks for her designs on Etsy but also does some of her own outdoor rock picking.
Each item is personally designed and made by hand, with individual custom-made pieces also available.
The special stone and wire configurations are each specialized in their own way. Making each piece truly unique.
“Usually I go with whatever the rock speaks to me, it’s kind of a creative process I really enjoy,” Schroeder said. “I’ve been an artist my whole life and I really enjoy making things. It’s kind of a stress reliever for me. Actually, when I need to wind down, it’s great.”
