PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Hillman falls to Charlton Heston
The Hillman High School boys basketball team took a tough road loss at Charlton Heston Academy, 50-36.
Hillman outscored Charlton Heston in the third quarter and cut the academy’s lead to seven points in the fourth, but would ultimately have to begin to foul Charlton Heston and the opponents capitalized, finishing 8-12 from the line to seal the victory.
Hillman struggled with shooting, going 12 for 60 from the floor and four for 20 from the three-point line.
Leading Hillman in scoring was Brenden Rouleau with 12 and Aedan Tucker would add 11. Junior Evan Crane would add 10 rebounds in the loss.
Hillman returns to action on Jan. 2 against Posen on the road.
“We once again started to slow out the gate and Heston outscored us 17-6 in the first quarter,” head coach Eric Muszynski said. “We cannot continue to have slow starts and the quality of our shots may have contributed to only shooting 20% from the floor. I was happy the boys kept their heads and what I would say was a very hectic game with no flow and to cut it to seven in the fourth was nice but once again we have to start finishing road games.”
