The Alpena High School boys basketball team beat Sault Area on Tuesday, 65-42.

Leading scorers for the Wildcats were Oliver Duthler with 21 points, Eddie Prue with 13 points, and Connor Cameron with 12 points.

Other noteworthy players, according to coach Evan Neff, were Asher Vaneffen and Carson Najmowicz who came in and provided huge minutes off the bench for Alpena. Their defensive presence was impressive and they completely raised the energy level in the gym, Neff said.

The Wildcats play at LaSalle on Friday.
