POLICE BLOTTER: Montmorency County deputies handle vehicle-deer crashes, domestic disputes
Recent actions by law enforcement agencies in Northeast Michigan. This has been only lightly edited.

Nov. 11
11:39 a.m.: A two vehicle crash was reported in Briley Township. MCSO deputies responded to the scene to take the report, no injuries were reported. Both vehicles were drivable, all units cleared without incident.
12:10 p.m.: A call came into dispatch regarding a tree across Klein Rd. The Road Commission was advised.
7:59 p.m.: A MCSO deputy responded to a residence in Hillman Village. The caller had stated he believed somebody was in his yard. The deputy cleared after finding the yard clear with nothing that looked out of place.
9:40 p.m.: A deputy came across a dead tree on a powerline while patrolling. PIE&G was notified.
Nov. 12
7:10 a.m.: A passerby picked up two dogs in Vienna Township that were running in the road, the dogs were taken to ECAS.
7:18 a.m.: A small dog was wandering the middle of the road in Hillman Township; a passerby picked the dog up and a deputy transported it to ECAS.
8:18 a.m.: A deer vehicle crash was reported in Albert Township; a report was taken.
8:57 a.m.: A deputy transported a prisoner from Alpena County Jail to the courthouse for his court proceeding; the subject was transported back to the jail.
12:18 p.m.: A verbal dispute among family members was reported in Briley Township. Deputies responded to the scene, spoke with all parties involved and cleared the scene without incident.
2:27 p.m.: An erratic driver was reported in Avery Township.
5:45 p.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported in Vienna Township. A report was taken.
Nov. 13
12:11 a.m.: An employee at a business in Briley Township reported a suspicious vehicle sitting outside of the building for 3 hours. A deputy responded and the subjects in the vehicle agreed to move.
7:34 a.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported in Rust Township. A report was taken.
7:46 a.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported; a report was taken.
4:05 p.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported; a report was taken.
5:14 p.m.: A resident in Hillman Township reported her neighbor shooting guns towards her property. A deputy responded and found the subjects were shooting pellet guns, a warning was given and the deputy cleared.
Nov. 15
8:18 a.m.: A welfare check was requested on residents in Rust Township. A deputy responded to the residence and found everyone to be fine.
9:53 a.m.: A female was sentenced to serve 15 days in jail, and ordered to turn herself in to Alpena Jail.
10:05 a.m.: A male subject was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail. A deputy transported him to Alpena Jail to serve his time.
10:15 a.m.: A female came in to get court ordered fingerprints. It was found she had two warrants out of other jurisdictions. The female was arrested on the warrants and transported to the county line to meet the other officer.
5:32 p.m.: The DNR handled a trespass complaint in Hillman Township.
5:33 p.m.: A welfare check was requested on a resident of the Village of Hillman. MCSO deputies responded to the residence, the subject was found to be fine. All units cleared without incident.
5:58 p.m.: A vehicle deer accident was reported in Avery Township. A report was taken.
6:20 p.m.: A missing hunter was reported in Briley Township. The DNR located subject shortly after and escorted him back to his vehicle.
6:58 p.m.: An alarm company notified MCSO of a smoke alarm in Hillman Township. The Hillman Fire Department responded and cleared after finding it to be an accidental alarm.
11:42 p.m.: Deputies responded to a dispute in Avery Township. Both parties were separated for the night. The deputies cleared the scene without incident after finding it was a verbal dispute.
Nov. 16
8:54 a.m.: A 911 call came into the dispatch center referencing an elderly female that was standing out by the road and flagged the caller down. Caller states the female couldn’t walk and that she needed help. MCSO and Tri Township EMS all responded to the scene. The female was assisted back into the house and checked by EMS. She was not transported and all units cleared without incident.
10:00 a.m.: A deer vehicle crash in Loud Township was reported. A report was taken, the vehicle was not able to be driven and was towed from the scene.
10:54 a.m.: A deputy while on routine patrol initiated a traffic stop downtown Atlanta. The driver ran the 4 way stop and was cited for disregarding a stop light.
11:18 a.m.: A deputy was requested to Albert Township to pick up a stray dog. While in route back to the shelter the owner of the dog called and came to MCSO to pick his dog up.
9:37 p.m.: Deputies responded to a report of a driver parked in the roadway in Briley Township. While en route, dispatch received another call from the same complainant that the driver was now driving into Albert Township. Deputies located the suspect and attempted a traffic stop in which the suspect did not obey. A pursuit took place and deputies were able to stop the vehicle shortly after. A 70-year-old male was arrested for OWI and lodged at ACJ.
Nov. 17
2:27 a.m.: A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Montmorency Township, north of Hillman. A report was taken.
11:05 a.m.: While on routine patrol a traffic stop was initiated, the driver was found to have a warrant out of Montmorency County, he was taken into custody, and transported to Alpena Jail to be lodged.
7:59 p.m.: MCSO was notified of an erratic driver on M-33 North. A deputy located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
8:45 p.m.: Deputies responded to a complaint of an unknown subject in a vacant apartment in Briley Township. The male subject was identified and found to be collecting tools from the earlier jobsite. The property owner was okay with this and the deputies cleared without incident.
10:26 p.m.: A third party caller reported a domestic violence incident in Hillman Township. A male subject was arrested for domestic violence.
