In the best interest of patients, Midland-based health system MyMichigan Health, which owns the Alpena hospital, will end participation with Humana Medicare Advantage in January 2025, MyMichigan Health said in a Monday news release.

Patients impacted are being notified by a letter with resources for them to consider an alternative health insurance plan that is in-network for MyMichigan services. Patients can select a new plan for 2025 now through Dec. 7, 2024.

Patients who have appointments or procedures scheduled in 2025 are reminded to check their 2025 Medicare plan coverage network.
