PREP ROUNDUP: Alpena swim loses first home meet

On Tuesday, the Wildcats held their first home meet and lost 66-101 against Standish-Sterling Central.

One of the highlights of the meet was sophomore swimmer Elizabeth Rabbideau having her personal best time in the 50 Yard Freestyle, 500 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard Medley Relay, and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.

Other personal best times came from Sarah Rabbideau in the 100 Yard Butterfly, Gabriella Tolan in the 200 Yard Freestyle, Annette Faircloth in the 50 Yard Freestyle, Addison Wesaw in the 50 Yard Freestyle, Allie Donajkowski in the 50 Yard Freestyle, and Eva Trainer in the 100 Yard Freestyle.

Lastly in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, swimmers Olivia Sherwood, Elizabeth Rabbideau, Tryst Bukowiecki, and Sarah Rabbideau finished first with their best time.

The next home meet is on today at 5 p.m. versus Gaylord.

ALCONA BEATS FAIRVIEW IN THREE SETS

The Alcona High School volleyball team played at home against Fairview on Tuesday.

The Tigers won in three sets: 25-8, 25-7, and 25-16.

Addi Beatty led the team with six aces and Elliyana Grimshaw delivered six kills.

ALCONA’S DARREN BOYAT PLACES 12TH

Alcona High School’s Darren Boyat competed in the Tigers’ first league meet on Tuesday in Hale, where he placed 12th with a time of 23:05. The next league meet is on Tuesday in Fairview.
