PREP ROUNDUP: Alcona XC competes
Alcona High School cross country competed Saturday morning in Boyne Falls at the 18th Annual Logger Invitational.
Darren Boyat ran a time of 21:42, finishing 18th, while Cole Upper ran a 20:26 and finished 13th overall. Both boys earned medals.
The next race is the first North Star League Meet of the season, which will be held in Hale on Tuesday.
ALPENA GIRLS SWIM PERSONAL BESTS
On Saturday, the Alpena High School varsity girls’ swim team traveled to Garber High School to participate in the Ogemaw Stephanie Rice Invitational.
A lot of improvement was demonstrated by the team.
In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Gabriella Tolan and Elizabeth Rabbideau swam with their personal best times.
Kaelyn Roznowski, Annette Faircloth, Allie Donajkowski, and Madalyn Farley swam their personal best in the 50-yard Freestyle.
Sarah Rabbideau earned her personal best in both the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Allie Donajkowski and Annette Faircloth swam the 100 Yard Freestyle and earned a personal best time.
Lastly, in the 100 Yard Backstroke, Bailee Diemond swam her personal best time.
