ALPENA — Alpena Buick will hold a Car Seat Check-Up event for families to stop by and ensure their children have safe and proper seating in the car.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Alpena Buick GMC, 133 Johnson St., in Alpena.

The event is for those who want to ensure that their child’s car seat is installed correctly.

For those expecting, it is an opportunity to learn more about the use of car seats and their safety. It also is a chance to have someone properly check expiration dates.

Checks will be performed by S.T.A.R.S. in Northern Michigan, the Alpena Fire Department, and Michigan State Police.

These groups will also be able to help families pick out new car seats and lead them to the correct size and functions needed for a child based on their size and age.
