Traffic signal upgrades at the 3rd Avenue and Bagley/Hobbs intersection have begun on sidewalk ramps, foundations, and other ancillary work. In a press release Wednesday, Alpena officials say barricades may be present at times to shift traffic in the vicinity of the intersection, but no closures are expected for this work. It will take some time to complete the project, the strain poles for the traffic signal are still being manufactured. The contractor will attempt to complete all other work not associated with the poles over the next three three weeks unless project or weather delays occur.
