2 Alpena gymnasts named champs in Florida

Alpena Gymnastics AAU Competitive Team traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida the weekend of June 19 to 22 and came home with two national champions: Faith Dragiewicz and Addision Adrain.

Both girls placed first on the vault in their age division. Dragiewicz (a Platinum-level gymnast) earned a 9.45 and Adrain (a Silver-level gymnast) earned a 9.675.

Other girls placing throughout their age divisions were:

∫ placing in the Silver division, Madelyn Coffman, earning second place on beam with a 9.45, Brooklynn Finch, earning 10th place on vault with a 9.05, Cailyn Peters, earning fifth place on bars with a 9.325, and Livvy Spangle, earning seventh place on floor with a 9.65.

∫ placing in the Gold division, Callie Brousseau, third place on floor with a 9.325, Libby Misiak, earning sixth place on bars with a 9.3, Aryanna Page, earning sixth place on beam with a 8.8, and Savanna Spangle, earning third place on vault with a 9.625.

The team’s other Platinum-level gymnast, Brooke Smith, earned fourth place on floor with a 9.425.

Coaches Geri Samp and Billy Brousseau were thrilled by how their girls stood up to the competition.
