Northeast Michigan flood watch through Sunday morning
ALPENA — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all of Northeast Michigan through Sunday morning.
Repeated rounds of heavy rainfall — with 2 to 4 inches or even more rainfall possible — could cause flooding from excessive runoff and flooding of rivers, streams and other low-lying areas, the Weather Service said.
Poor drainage also may occur in areas with poor drainage and in urban areas.
The flood watch went into effect at 2 a.m. today and will remain in effect through Sunday.
The Weather Service urges residents to stay alert to weather forecasts and watch for flood warnings.
