Drone training to begin at CRTC
The Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center will host an annual training exercise that will increase air traffic within a five-mile radius of the base.
On Wednesday, military drone exercises will begin and continue on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. through June 28.
In a press release, the base said the public may notice higher volumes of unmanned aerial system traffic as drone operators practice flying and maneuvering capabilities. No night or weekend activity is scheduled.
The military says the drones will not photograph private property or civilians during the training.
